Paul Brand received training to be a builder—he had no plans to pursue medicine. Then God surprised him by calling him to medical missions. Dr. Brand spent his life treating leprosy, and he served 19 years in India. He was the first surgeon to do reconstructive surgery to restore the hands and feet of his patients.
