Hendrix deftly combines text and art in this graphic novel. During Adolf Hitler’s rise in Germany, pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer forms a church to speak out against the political and religious authorities that accommodate Nazism. Bonhoeffer escapes as a fugitive when the Nazis outlaw the church. He eventually pays the ultimate price in his fight against evil.
