Two businessmen had bought gas rights on the piece of land for $1. They were looking for natural gas when they discovered high amounts of helium mixed in. Helium is important for medical scanners, computer parts, space travel, and many other uses. According to AFP, the amount of helium in this reserve could be enough to fill about 1.4 trillion party balloons.
